Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

Uptown Suites is looking for a self-motivated and highly ambitious individual to fill a Sales Manager role at its hotel in Tampa, FL. This challenging and rewarding position has overall responsibility for representing our new brand of extended stay hotels, Uptown Suites, to successfully drive revenue and market penetration through brand, local and value initiatives. This position will require a talented self-starter who has a passion for helping launch a new brand developed by an established hotel company. Proactive selling to build relationships that will drive results are key to success with highly developed sales skills & communications within the extended stay arena and transient hotel space. A strong skill set to evaluate current market demand generators for effectiveness in driving top-line revenue are essential.
Essential Functions:

• Initiate and implement sales campaigns to include research, promotions, event coordination, advertising, public relations and social media planning.
• Responsible for developing a comprehensive sales forecast.
• Responsible for driving sales through inbound leads and inquiries, conducting outside sales calls will be a major focus, obtaining new business accounts, conducting site tours, networking with the local business community.
• Must be able to professionally communicate with exceptional written & oral presentation skills; actively developing and delivering general presentation/public speaking.
• Initiate and maintain a direct and aggressive sales effort to meet budgeted goals and achieve RevPAR and penetration growth.
• Partner with Director of Revenue and VP of Sales & Marketing on a regular basis to review and update 30/60/90-day forecasting in order to meet and/or exceed our budgeted goals.
• Maintain sales database and provide regular reports to management. Ability in working with Sales Force system.
• In partnership with the brand Director of Marketing, design and coordinate advertising, public relations and promotional campaigns for Uptown Suites.
• Maintain active involvement in county/city CVB, volunteering for special events/committees to develop and maintain a positive and professional reputation in the community.
• Ability to drive sales through local marketing and lead generation

Requirements

• Must possess a valid driver's license, current automotive insurance and reliable transportation
• Must pass a pre-employment drug and background screening
• Proficient in the English language, both spoken and written
• Minimum 3 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry
• Basic business math and accounting skills, including P&L analysis
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent hospitality sales industry experience with extended stay brand(s) a plus.
• Excellent communication, oral and written skills; positive attitude, self-starter with strong initiative and competitive mind set with a passion for the hotel business.
• Advanced working knowledge of all office products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sales Force
