Inside Sales Account Manager I

The Inside Sales Account Manager is responsible for building Univar business partnerships and growing sales of existing Univar customers by gaining understanding of all aspects of the customer’s business and utilizing Univar sales processes to uncover and close new business opportunities. This position will require effective territory management and business planning capabilities to execute our strategies to maximize sales performance within the assigned geography.

While all of the sales calls are done over the phone, by WebEx or video chat, this is an account executive level sales role, not a support role, and requires a driven self-starter attitude and the ability to work autonomously.

Job Description

As an Inside Sales Account Manager, you will:
• Use accepted Univar selling processes and execute sales calls via telephone, WebEx or video chat to increase profitable sales growth and territory penetration.
• Establish and develop customer relationships by evaluating needs and opportunities within customer accounts and negotiate effectively to overcome obstacles and gain customer commitment.
• Develop business plans to achieve sales goals and objectives.
• Maintain knowledge of products, services, competitive activities, and other general information of interest to customers.
• Collaborate with other sales team members to share best practices and drive account growth.
• Document all account activity in the CRM system (

Qualifications Required for Consideration:
• Bachelor's degree from fully accredited four-year institution preferred or 2+ years of sales experience
• Ability to manage assigned accounts and strategically plan for territory
• Developing business acumen, and has a basic understanding of the business relationship between manufacturers, distributors, and end-users of chemical products and services
• Negotiation skills that allow Univar to realize appropriate value for products, rather than resorting to price-based selling
• Solid communication skills (written, verbal, listening, presentation)
• Excellent computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as CRM platforms such as
